As expats living overseas wanting to purchase our first home in Sydney, we worked with Mark Cranwell at Distinctive Finance for our loan. Mark not only has deep experience with overseas borrowers, he also has expertise in loans where the borrower’s compensation largely relies on RSUs/shares over salary (like many tech workers). We spoke to half-dozen other brokers and they had little understanding of how to navigate this comp structure with the banks. Mark was thoughtful, proactive, comprehensive, and transparent with his advice. He secured the loan amount we were targeting — effectively allowing us to be treated as residents with standard comp. We recently used Distinctive Finance to secure both a home and business loan. We have used other brokers before but this was by far our best experience.I felt like we were not rushed or under any pressure. They gave good honest advice and secured us a fantastic deal on both counts. Leighton made himself available whenever we needed him and was there to advocate for us when we dealt with the lender. He was also pretty patient as I'm hopeless when it comes to finance, and needed plenty of education!
