The Distinctive Finance Team
With over 15 years of experience in finance as a Private Banker, Branch Manager, Business Development Manager and Mobile Banker, Leighton brings knowledge, big picture thinking and tenacity to Distinctive Finance clients.
“During my time working in both big and small banks, one aspect of the industry has remained prevalent – relationships built with clients are often eroded through banker career progression or changes in business direction. Distinctive Finance’s motto is ‘building lifelong relationships, and on simplifying the complicated.’ Fundamentally, this is a core belief that I also share.”
Coupled with his wealth of experience, Leighton is also a licensed valuer and specialises in tailoring finance solutions for accounting and high net worth clients.
Leighton originally from the Central Coast now calls Manly home, where he lives with his partner Laura. In his spare time, he enjoys travel, cooking, watching everything sporting related and spending time with family and friends.
Christian has a career spanning more than 25 years. He has worked for NAB, CBA, St George and BOQ.
Christian’s professional life began as a teller before moving into a plethora of fields including Personal and Private Banking, Directorships, State Management positions and national roles as Head of Banking.
“The majority of my corporate career has been spent extensively working within and leading private banking teams. ‘Distinctive Finance’ has been created to accurately reflect our ethos, namely a high touch client service model. The two key differences that we also align ourselves with is both the understanding of the associated high costs to be considered with private clients. Also the longevity of tenure one would expect from their dedicated financial specialist.”
Christian is married to Cate and has three children, Erica, Jade and Marcus. His hobbies include Golf, Boxing, Motor Sports and spending time with his family. He is also a Black Belt in Karate.
Mitchell’s career in finance began some 17 years ago, having worked for major banks NAB, ANZ, St.George, and Westpac.
His passion for helping clients started when he secured his first banking role as a teller with NAB before advancing to a relationship role within the business banking division not long after. In 2008, Mitchell relocated to NAB Asia as a Private Banker. He spent six years in Singapore, supporting his private clients throughout South East Asia, before returning to Australia to join BT Financial Group.
“My true passion is in helping others, both personally and professionally. I have a deep understanding of the finance industry and know how pivotal it is for clients to have a trusted finance representative by their side. Joining Distinctive Finance allows me to put the client first. I look forward to continuing to build long and lasting relationships.”
Mitchell is married to Karen with three daughters, Georgina, Imogen, and Olivia. He can recite every song on Frozen and loves spending time with his family and friends. He’ll watch any live sport and passionately supports Australia in any capacity.
Wayne’s experience in the finance industry is second to none. NAB, CBA, St George, Westpac & BT Financial Group collectively amount to over 40 years in tenure. During this vast expanse, he has established many life-long relationships with a diverse range of people including Heads of Industry; CEO’s; lawyers; politicians and sporting figures to name a few.
Wayne commenced his career in finance as a Bank teller whilst completing his business degree at university. He progressed into an array of personal banking roles including lending, settlements and branch management. However, it was the private banking field that he appreciated the most and excelled.
“For the past 20 years I have been involved in the establishment, staff recruitment, operational, business development and high-level management of Private Banks. I understand what clients want from a Bank; I have built relationships with individuals within all institutions whom I would confidentially trust with their custom. I want them to be comfortable with any decisions that would impact their world.”
Wayne has been married to Sue for 40 years and regardless of his career achievements, it is this relationship that he is most proud.
