Distinctive Finance has strengthened its team with the appointment of the experienced Brad Rourke to the newly-created role of credit executive.
Brad, who has spent the past 35 years with Commonwealth Bank across retail through to commercial with the last 16 years in private banking, says the move to Distinctive Finance came about after evaluating what he wanted from the rest of his career – and the opportunity to join a growing business that’s genuinely focused on delivering the very best for its clients matched up with his ambition.
“I evaluated the opportunity that was presented to me with Distinctive and recognised it allowed me to learn new skills in the broking world and draw on all of my Banking and finance experience whilst aligning with some of the parts that I do best, being the credit side of things,” Brad says.
“I want to work with good people and good clients, and there’s a natural synergy there too. After so long at Commonwealth Bank it’s a big decision, and it’s one I’m really excited about.”
Brad’s new role involves assessing loan applications, overseeing more complex elements of deals and liaising with clients and business development managers at lenders, and he’s delighted to be working with people he’s known for a while in the shape of Christian Goodall, Leighton Packer, Wayne Packer and Mitchell Lobb.
“I’ve known them for many years, I’ve worked with them and know them on a personal level too, and that was the main reason I joined Distinctive Finance rather than stay where I was or join another bank,” explains Brad, who lives in Sydney with his wife Nicole and two sons, aged 16 and 17. “The business is growing, and they’re all people I trust.”
